Keep in mind that many companies IH inc.,made miner changes all thru the manufatering cycle of a model. Most of these changes never efected FORM FIT OR FUNCTION. For example a vender may be late supplying a certain knob,bolt rivet or other feature. Rather than hold back a product for some liitle item they will go local purchase.use stock from another supplyer, or use up stock from the previus models,or even use parts that are for the new model. In your case decals,instead of the stainless farmall logo that they may have ran out of. they quickly came up with a decal to sufice in order to get the tractor out to the customer. Think about it like this. IH as a corp. does not get $$$$ for that unit until they can sell it. No mfgr in his right mind will keep a yard full of tractors at bay (w/customers waiting),over a logo. They will make some hasty eng. corrections and press on.

Today's Featured Article - Tractor Traction - by Chris Pratt. Our first bout with traction problems came when cultivatin with our Massey-Harris Pony. Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights.
