The cam gears were pressed on at the factory before installing the cam. Since it has hydraulics only a forged gear will need to be used, not cast iron. Don't beleive you can replace the gear without removing the camshaft as it is a very tight fit. The cam was installed at the factory after dropping in the lifters while the engine block was inverted.
