I was just going to ask aobutthe same noise I seem to understand you have. I just noticed mine made some noise tonight, mostly while coasting. I could feel the vibration when I put my hand down by the hump in the tranny where I think the reverse idler is. If these are straight cut gears, that is probably the case of the noise, especially if they are worn some. I also have anoise that seems to be coming from th eclutch or rear engine area if the engine is wide open and under a slight load. It disappears under a heavy load or no load. Sounde like a knocking rod, but I don't think it is. Any Ideas?
