This is the tractor side of the SMTA hydraulic coupling. Your friend may or may not have this style as many of those fittings were replaced with newer couplings. A pair of new old stock implement side of the coupling recently sold on eBay for around $70. The sale also included the special fitting holder which he will need.
If he has to ask you about fittings, he probably doesn't know what he has or what is available. Consequently, you can't help him much until you see the tractor.
If you don't want to get deeply involved, tell him to go to any tractor dealer or tractor supply and buy two sets of male and female couplings.
There is alot to be said for new fittings. They will be easy to operate and won't leak. They will also come with dust caps. If he has the newer fittings and they are in good shape, he only needs the two implement fittings. He should remove one when he goes shopping to assure compatibility.
