In the earlier post I suggested that the piston could have been cast with the head a few degrees from straight. If so the rod could be just fine, and tearing into the engine to find out it was not bent would have been a waste. A crooked piston casting (with many hours on it) that was running well will continue to do so. Just a final reality check on the fact that there had been no catastrophic event to bend a rod in a twist. My hunch paid off saving some bucks. Jim
