When you rebuilt that carb did you soak it overnight in clean carb cleaner?
Did you check your float to see if it leaked by immersing in hot water and looking for bubbles?
Did you buy a quality kit and install it or just tear it down and clean it?
You have a problem with your float and/or needle and seat. They are not working together to shut off the gas as needed. I would start by disassembling and cleaning very well. Check the float and replace if necessary. When you get your carb clean use some rubber gas line with in line filter for a while to make sure that you are not being chased in circles by crud from the tank...BTDT. You can reinstall the old line after you get things a-runnin right.
