1946 Farmall A brakes and fluid capacity

Have an A I am trying to figure out how to remove the wheel assy to get to the brakes. Does that who big assy come off the axle. gear and all.

Do you take the snap ring off the end of the axle and slide it off.

Also. What is the transmission capacity of the A and what type of transmission fluid is used. I bought some hyd/transmission fluid from walmart called Hi tec. It says it is for farmall transmissions, pto, and hyd pumps.

I bought the oil for a C I have to fill up the Hydraulic resevoir
