Phil, Thanks for the reply. The tag is in good shape, and completely readable.If the L is in the correct place for a Louisville, but the S/N is too low, I wonder what it means. I talked to a fellow at the Round-Up who said that when the Farmall Works plant couldn't keep up with demand, they started producing tractors in Louisville. Evidently, some customers in the mid-west wanted their tractors built in the mid-west and not in Kentucky. So, to disguise this, the L was added to the tag to read SML and low Rockford S/N's were used. I thought this was quite a story, what do you think? On the block, under spark plug # 3 8071 CK is stamped. Does this help any? Thanks
