The Charlynn doesn't use much volume. I think it may be around 3-4 gpm. The distributer hydraulic pump will put out 10-15 gpm. Use a flow control valve from the Surplus Center to bleed off the excess flow. There are fixed and adjustable flow control valves. When you dump more than half the output of the pump back to the reservoir, the load on the gear train is proportionately reduced and is tolerable.
Continue to run the loader with the PTO pump if you wish. Personally, I would make the loader hydraulics live with a pump driven from the crankshaft pulley as shown below.
