You most likely have multiple issues. A timing issue, and weak spark. Timing advance on the mag is 35* BTDC. That is very important. I fought with mine for literally for months. The spark may "look" good and hot, but most likely isn"t as hot as it appears.
The only way you will ever get the timing absolutely correct is with a timing light with advance. Very simple procedure.
