Hey, I wouldn't run that tractor. Those spacers are what keeps that balls tight. If you run it that way the balls can move around. This causes vibration that will cause more of the bearing to go. If the bearing lets loose she'll junk the tractor in a hurry. I've installed several new sets of ball bearings in 20s and 30s. Its quite a job. The engine must be pulled, the flywheel, bell housing and crankshaft removed, then the bearings. If the rear is this bad the front can't be much better. Consider replacing both.
