43H Brake Frozen

Removed left brake with little difficulty. Right brake is a different matter. The large pin to which the brake compression spring is attached is frozen to the cover and apparently also on the other end where it goes into the transmission housing. If I could free the cover, then I could probably free the other end. I have used WD-40 and Liquid Wrench where the pin enters cover, I have beat on the pin, the cover, the dog and anything else closeby, and have gone at the pin with a pipe wrench; all without success. The cover stays tight. Surely others have had this problem and surely some have defeated it. Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated. Would heat help?
