Machine249 said: (quoted from post at 15:03:40 12/07/09) I need help with my fuel gauge. I have a new sending unit and have tried two differant gauges with the same result. Everything is wired correctly and all wires check out as far as current (no shorts). Every time I hook it up, no matter the float position, it will bury on full. I have checked the ground on the sending unit wire at the gauge with a test light and get very dim on empty and bright on full. Am I correct to assume that I have tested two gauges with the same problem? If so where can I get a new gauge. Thanks for any help.
Is the sending unit fully grounded? If the sending unit is installed in the tank, and the tank is mounted on the tractor, is the tank properly grounded to the tractor chassis? Somehow or other, that sending unit HAS to be grounded for proper function.
