Adding to the confusion: There are two types of adjustable tread front rims, 3-rivet lug (early) and 4-rivet lug (late). Not certain the date when the change was made but I'd guess about 1951 (Guy Fay???). BTW the 3- and 4-rivet adjustable rims are interchangable; my '53 Super H had one of each when I got it as did a neighbor's '49 H. Recent photos of The Red's '51 H shows one of each style too.
