Jason, personally I would change it but lets see what other folks have to say. I am trying to recall. I think I got around 5 gallons when I drained the rear drain and almost a gallon from the front drain. You get about a quart from the pulley facing when you jar it loose. It is purposely designed to hold 90W to lubricate the two ball bearing assemblies in the belt pulley assembly.

If you decide to replace it, I recommend you pull the 4 bolts out of the face casting on the flat belt pulley assembly and tap it loose and drain it also. I got about 1/2 quart of water and 1/2 quart of 90W. When you tighten the face back up, there is a filler plug on the top of the pulley assembly. Add one quart of 90W, of your 6 gallons, in there. 90W is cheap and you won't have to mess with it for 5 to 10 years depending on your maintenance schedule.

"Barry Seiler, owner of Country Town Farm Supply store used to invite people up to the Johne Deere store. He would give hats and a free meal for everyone that brings a tractor." Elliott said while this ... [Read Article]
