Don, I converted my 1951 H to 12 volt using a Hitachi #14231 12 volt alternator. It is about an inch less in diameter then a Delco 10SI. The original application for the Hitachi alternator was on 1978 - 1980 Nissan model 620 and 720 pickup trucks I was told. There was no problem obtaining a rebuilt one from the national known auto parts stores for about $50 plus a core charge. When I converted my tractor I documented the entire process and have it stored on my PC and would be happy to share with you if you send me an email through the forum. Hope this helps as the Hitachi makes a very neat installation on a H or Super H, without the need to fabricate a lot of additional hardware and modify the belt routing, Hal.
