sounds like you got a good deal on the cub. a runner with a mower and plow is real good pricewise. regarding the front tires, i couldnt say for sure but believe they were ribbed for an ag application. if you will be mowing flat ground, the car type tires tear up ground less on turns. if you need the traction on turns, the rib tires are a lot better. be careful side hill mowing with the cub, they can tip over. i loaded the rear tires on my cub with chloride for extra ballast. cast weights would also be a good option. there are also front wheel weights for the cub too.
