A common issue. If the bearings in the bump are tight and the shaft location is not allowing the gears to hit the housing, the seal can be replaced. There are more than one pump. IT will have either a lip type seal or an O ring. Either can be repaired. The seal can be replaced, and a speedy sleeve pushed on over the original shaft. (pump assembled first)if it is an O ring, a new ring can be installed, but if the shaft is grooved, the speedy sleeve will not fit into the hole of the housing, ant the housing and groove will need to be rebored to allow for the bigger shaft diameter. No big deal either way, and less expensive than a new pump. JimN
