If you seen this tractor you would know why we are not making here original again. The owner I got her from started this in project in the 60s. He started by cutting the frame off in front of the tranny and out behind the radiator suport and bolting it back on to the out side of the existing frame "stubs". The steering rod has been pacthed and repaired to the point of being dangerours. He put a motor and 4 speed car tranny in the newly formed wide frame and I guess welded the car tranny in one of the gears (or at least it don't move out of that gear with any sort of ease!). He even went as far as to cobble together a foot clutch to the front tranny. It is a neat piece of our farming community's history and we tought it would be fun to get running, not to mention it will clean up some old parts that the horses keep tripping over. I sure like the old tractors and have some original stuff I like to drive. Right now I'm starting a 53 Case LA. I also have Farmall M that is waiting to get a make over some day when I have a thumb up my butt I might even restore my every day work tractor A 706 Diesel. This tractor was pretty much a rear end and part of a radiator one day I just decided how much fun it would be to run a half-assed nitro burner down the track on a small (really tiny small) budget. Like I said even if it won't pull we can turn some heads pulling a hay rake with it! ( have you ever pulled a rake at 40MPH? you can get a lot of hay put up that way!)

I've heard the arguments for non-detergent oils but would never trade it for today's formulations. Paint is another, the modern acrylic enamels are great for resistance to grease and fuel stains, retaining their shine and they last forever; unlike enamels and lacquers . Still another is the alternator. No doubt using the original generator keeps the tractor pure, but for thos
