I. just resurrected a very nice barn find. 50 M with all the options. Sheet metal and factory paint in great shape. Engine was seized from 12 years storage in the barn. (It's a little humid in Texas)Did complete In-Frame Pistons,sleeves,valve-grind, the works! Starts and runs great EXCEPT under @ load. Ex; 5th gear start-offs.I tanked and overhauled the carb. I have the main jet needle backed out to the last thread for best results. It works better with some choke? Could the dome top piston require a fatter fuel mixture? Should I explore upsizing the main to compensate for modern fuel? or might it be an advance problem? The original pistons wre pop-ups.The engine runs and sounds great until you ask for power. Points are set @.020 (It's a non-magneto) The carb is getting adequate fuel to the bowl. Any suggestions?
