My smdta constantly builds up the white cruddy stuff (don't know the technical term) on the positve terminal and where the ground cable attaches to the deck plate. What causes this? It is also just about always dead after it sits for several days. New battery and volt regulator, newly rebuilt gen, all new wiring harness and cables. Is it just a bad ground? I've cleaned the ground and removed all paint, grease, dirt from the connections several times. Doesn't seem to help much. Any thing else that causes this?
