After searching the archives some, I wonder if it would be money better spent to change out the generator for an alternator instead of replacing the voltage regulator. I don't see the need to go to 12V because of all of the lights needing to be changed and they all work okay now.
I know that Hugh praises his alternator on the tractor still running 6 volts.
I have searched the net and 1 of the 1st sites that pops up is in Michigan (search 6 volt alternator). They has new Delco 6V one wire alternators, both neg gnd & pos gnd, in the $130 to $140 range. The new V/R is going to be about $60.
Just curious Hugh: is your 6V tractor pos gnd or neg gnd?
