Rebuilding new to me Gehl 2160 Mower/conditioner. Now at the point to install hyd cyl and hose/hoses to tractor. I will be mowing with a 966. Owners manual states use either a one way or two way cylinder. Hose length is 164 inches. I have a 3 inch one way IH cylinder I could use. Save a lot of $ in two hoses. Question is: What size cylinder requires a 3/4 OD (1/2 id) hose, and when to go to 1 inch (3/4 id) hose. Manual does not state what diam cyl to use, but looking at the mass/wt I would say 3 inch is conservative. Bottom line, can I got to small (1/2 id ) hose with a 3 inch cyl?
