Just added a power steering kit to my Super M. Had to replace all the o-rings in the torque generator, but I more or less stopped all the leaks.
Anyway, I'm starting to realize that the pump never jumps to high pressure. When moving, even just barely, the PS works great. However, while standing still it may or may not work. Never once, even if I run the steering to the stops, does the engine change speed or slip the belt. I haven't checked the regulator valve yet. Tried to unscrew it yesterday, but it didn't want to budge and I didn't want to break anything.
I do have ATF in the pump, but maybe I should be using hydraulic fluid?
