They were ok. A late model will have centre drive Z.F. front axle, Rockford clutch and handbrake on the diff. Really early (usually IHC badged) has a side drive axle, Tiny Laycock clutch, and hand brake on the pinion shaft which was as much use as an ash tray on a motor cycle. These things were gradually phased out in the 885s production run. You WILL NOT find a David Brown 885 badged as Case IH, only as a David Brown, David Brown - Case or a Case depending on where it was sold. It is an International built at the Wheatly Hall Road, Doncaster, Yorkshie England plant.
