I have a 4000 hour black stripe 966. TA works flawlessly. I use it rarely, but it's a nice feature when baling and I want to slow down a little without shifting. I rarely do any tillage work, so don't need it there. I'd be more concerned with the dealers, and your, assesment of the clutch. It's a hydraulic thing and the problem might lie there, if it has a clutch issue. That is a great price for a 986. I've tried to buy a couple of nice 886, CAH, but they went at auction for right at 14K.
