I solved my 154 problems by shit canning the starter/generator and converting to a 184 starter&alternator.You will need:184 ring gear(IHC $50.00),184 reman.starter(central tractor $110.00),GM63amp reman.alt(Auto Zone $30.00,for 77chev.p.u.),184 alt.resistor(IHC $5.00),also should replace ammeter with volt meter.Fabricate alt. bracket or try Wenger`s for a used one pt#131229C1 & 184 V-belt from IHC $18.00.Ring gear just sweats onto flywheel,revise your wiring using service manual or 184 owners man.(both avail.from IHC & others it`s worth the effort & $$$.........MIKE
