The PTO shaft sticking out the pump is something we had a machine shop make for us. It wedges inside the splines of the pump so we could run the feedwagon without removing the pump. All the power is transmitted through the pump shaft, so having something that required a lot of power might not be a good idea, but we ran grain augers, grinder mixer, and feedwagon that way.
There are also long extension shafts that will go all the way through the pump and have enough sticking out to connect to, those would handle more power in my opinion. The pump would be back a bit farther, though.
