Went to play with the loader in the snow yesterday and was surprised to find that the tractor would not move. After idling for a few minutes, I could rock the tractor back and forth by hand, so apparently there's some water in the main transmission, but not a huge amount.
I can take care of the transmission easily enough, but those final drive pans scare the %$#@ out of me.
What are the odds that a bolt is going to twist off on me when I go to pull those pans? Would I be better served just trying to suck the old oil out through the fill hole? I've got a very expensive mityvac kit that I bought for bleeding brakes, and have never used.
