Your problem on the oil leak is the seal and bushing under the steering wheel . Takes longer to remove the steering wheel then it does to replace the seal and bushing. This all comes in a kit and the last one i bought cost less then ten buck but that has been awhile ago. Look back in the archives and i have layed out just how to remove the steering wheel and remove the seal. As to your shifter problems since i am not there to look it over can't say but just take your time and look over everything and you will see the problem . More then likely she was just used to much when it was new.
