1066 oil coming from steering column and shifter kits

I remember reading about this before. I went out to start the 1066 the other day and after it was running a bit oil started to drip down onto the floor. Is there an adjustment or something that needs tightening or do I need to replace something? Also I am getting ready to order a CVR repair kit and I see there are 2 to choose from. the IH5686KIT and the IH6688KIT. Which is more complete? I want to make sure it shifts smooth after and doesn't get hung up like it is now.
Thanks,
-Tim

As a general rule, you can't adjust away a leak.

The only way to know what's leaking is to dig in and have a look-see. It's probably one of the power steering lines. They tend to rub on each other under there and wear through.

I found the older article I was talking about. He mentioned a couple seals in there that wear out. I wanted to know that so I knew what parts to order if any. I'll be tearing it apart to look at the shifter assembly anyway to see what parts need replaced there and I can find out where the fluid is coming from at that time. Thanks!

Your problem on the oil leak is the seal and bushing under the steering wheel . Takes longer to remove the steering wheel then it does to replace the seal and bushing. This all comes in a kit and the last one i bought cost less then ten buck but that has been awhile ago. Look back in the archives and i have layed out just how to remove the steering wheel and remove the seal. As to your shifter problems since i am not there to look it over can't say but just take your time and look over everything and you will see the problem . More then likely she was just used to much when it was new.
