One note about bread.
I lived through (thanks to the 5ft walls on Wolf Hall, Keesler AFB) the highest windspeed CAT 5 Hurricane to hit American soil, Camille, sustained winds of 225 mph.
Anyway, the aftermath left us all with nothing for weeks. I learned this recipe from the locals who obviously had only flour and Jax or Dixie beer). It's called 'beer bread". We all lived on this for some time.
3 cups flour
3 tsp. sugar (not needed if you don't have it)
1 can beer (12oz.)
Mix and put in bread loaf pan, bake for 30 minutes at 300 degrees.
