As i still set them for MOST engines at the .027 for the C221 thru the 301 Bring her up on #1 TDC and ya set 1,2,3 then skip 4 set 5 skip 6 set 7 skip 8 and set 9 , roll the engine over back to TDC then set 4 -6-8-10-11-12 all done . Also watch vary carefully for bridging on the rocker arm and valve stem and the feeler gauge as the rocker arms will ware and you can get the feller gauge between a high spot on the rocker arm and this will throw ya off on the set , so here the true meaning of FEELER GAUGE comes into play as ya want to just catch the side of the feeler gauge on the worn side of the rocker arm and the valve stem . Now if the rocker arms have been reground then this is not a big problem SOOOOOooooo look real close when your adjusting valves and FEEL the set
