The main jet is not the same as the load screw. The main is a fixed orifice that provides 80-90% of the fuel. The load screw adjusts this from none when all the way in, to 120% or so with it out 4 or 5 turns. Thus if it dies when all the way in, the main is probably plugged up either a flake in the jet itself, or in the passage. There is also a screen in the inlet to the carb which can be radically plugged up (but is less obvious) Jim
