I own a Super A with a magneto. The person that I bought the tractor from said that he had switched to the magneto from a coil/distributor system. The magneto is a Fairbanks Morse Type FMO.
The owners manual on the tractor describes oiling the impulse coupling on a regular basis. The factory magneto has an oil cup provided for lubrication access.
The Fairbanks Morse unit has no similar lubrication points.
I have seen no mention in any tractor forum concerning use of the Fairbanks Morse unit with a Super A.
Can anyone shed some light on this.
Specifically the questions are :
1 - Is the Fairbanks Morse Type FMO magneto normally used with the Super A
2 - Does the impulse coupling have to be oiled and if so how do I get to it.
