Can anyone tell when what each of the adjustment screws are for? Also do you have a solution for the wandering idle problem?
The carburetor was shooting gas out the overflow hole from a stuck float. So I took the carb off and put in a new needle/seat and float along with new gaskets. Then as I was setting the carb, the idle wanders. Also it full throttle it coughs and can hardly even sustain PTO rpm. My first thought was vacuum leak at the carb base, but I resealed it with Permatex along with the gasket. Then I thought it was fuel starved, so I made sure the bowl was full of fuel. No fuel flow problems (To the carb and into the bowl anyway).
The most unusual thing is that it will run and pull a load fine with the choke ¼ of the way out. I ran what I believe is the mixture (bottom of float bowl) screw out and it never smoothed out. In fact, I ran it all the way out to where gas was starting to drip past and it still never ran rich. The plugs are pure white from being lean. I then sprayed carb cleaner all around the carb, carb gasket and manifold gasket. If it is leaking from any gasket, I can't find where. Any Ideas?
