There have been several recent posts regarding alternators and generators, 12 vs 6, for Farmalls.
I recently have taken an interest in a Farmall which has been in teh family and I know little about how my father cobbled it togather to run. I do know that at one point he put a 12 Volt battery in an blow out all the lights. The tractor runs fine and I know that it does not charge.
What ramifications are there in running this machine with a 12 Volt without any retrofiting of starters, alternators/generator, plugs, coils, spark, etc.
I guess a second question is should I be thinking about going over this whole system and setting it up as either 6 Volt or 12 Volt?
