Pull the bar and rotate the belt checking for slop in the box. Check oil level to see if maybe it was run dry. Ask if it has been rebuilt. Look at all the rock guards. 7 dollars each to replace those. If you have serrated guards you should have smooth sections and vice versa Is the cylindeer there? That"s 100 retail and 30 dollars at farm auction. One that is perfect to all these things worth about 800 dollars. Deduct accordingly.
