Sometime ago I put a message on here concerning correct timing of this cub with a magneto. Thanks to all who responded. Further investigation showed the magneto was shorting out. I got the magneto back from the mag shop and when I installed it and set the timing the tractor started without problems; however, the number 2 cylinder is not firing. I have checked the spark plug wire and have checked the plug. I even put the plug in the wire and grounded it to the engine and I get a good spark but when the wire is hooked to the plug in the engine it does not fire. This engine has been recently overhauled and I believe there is a compression problem either with the valves or possibly a scored piston or broken or improperly installed rings. I would appreciate any information anyone would like to share concerning this problem. Thanks for your help, Ed E
