Jimmy: If your an old iron guy, by all means, your welcome. One bit of warning, you'll not get much info out of me about pre 1939 IH tractors. I grew up way out on the east coast of Canada, we didn't see a lot of tractors until the letter series came along. Tractors were there as early as 1920, just not in big numbers. My families' first tractor was a used Fordson in 1938. Dad tolerated it until 1942 and traded it for a new W4. I say tolerated as my understanding was the horses would have actually had less work, if they had actually done the work, instead of tow starting the Fordson.
Dad used to tell a story about the first day they got the Fordson. They were breaking new land, and my grandfather operated the Fordson on field cultivator until noon. Dad picked rocks with horses and a 2 wheeled cart. At noon, grand dad suggested dad take the Fordson and that he would pick rocks. I guess we can assume the Fordson was that bad.
