I got the new VR and put it on my SC. Polarized Gen., started tractor and guage still shows discharge to the left, almost 15 amps. Turn lights on it drops to about 10 amp discharge. Changed wires around on AmpMeter and it shows about a 10 amp charge, turn lights on and goes to about a 15 amp charge. Old VR I could get a charge on it by grounding the field terminal. Can't try that right now though with new VR, broke a bolt on the AmpMeter so going to have to get a new AmpM now. Was taking wires off, checking that they were good and cleaning ends up, one nut was stuck so I got it unstuck lol. So whenever the ampmeter comes in this week how would you suggest I wire it? I did check and the wire from Batt. on VR is going to the discharge side bolt on the back of the AmpM and the wire that goes to the starter is on the charge side bolt. Seems to be a lot of Gen, VR questions lately, wonder if that means winter is coming? lol.
