The clip looks OK. If it does not restrict or "direct" the location of the needle by pulling at all sideways on it it will work. If it has any influence sideways the needle will not seat in the bottom of the seat hole. The crookedness will allow seeping. I would rather see it without the clip, than with a clip that interferes. Check the old clip it may be better! JimN
