Hold your hand over the throat of the carburetor and see if there's good suction on your hand. I would double check that intake manifold to make sure it isn't leaking. Check your valve clearance again and when checking them cold, add .002" to the clearance. You may want to do a compression check and compare the readings. They should be close to one another. We always did these with the throttle in the wide open position. Good compression and intake manifold vacuum are all related to one another. Hal
