Sure sounds like the return vent check is plugging up. There is a plastic washer in that pump and it is slowly coming apart, tiny piece by tiny piece. Take a CLEAN can, pull the little square timing cover, catch the fuel and see if you get the black debris that folks like to call "coffee grounds" in with the fuel. If so, the pump needs rebuilding. I'm doing the same style pump on my Gleaner combine and the symptoms were identical to yours. The rebuild seal kit cost $32 and the new vent check valve set me back $27. Allan
