Speaking of gas caps, I put a new one on the super C many years ago when the free gas caps became available. Now I have to leave it loose or it won"t run long. The vent is pluged. I switched with the H & then the H stalled. So I know it is the cap. Is there any thing I can do to open it? Soaking in carb cleaner would maybe help but could destroy the gasket too. I know it will take the paint off. Do you think I could get another new one? Do they keep a record of the serial numbers?
