300U not running well

I was out mowing last night and my 300U started acting up. It runs good for about 10-15 minutes and then starts running irratic. If I pull the choke all the way out it starts to run good again. when I throttle it down with the choke out it kills and will not start again. If I take the choke off it starts right up again and will run again with choke off for 5-10 minutes and then run irratic again. Whats going on with it?
