I just purchased a 240U that was painted yellow, apparently later in life because there is red paint underneath. I just noticed that under the yellow paint the rear wheel rims are plated. Don't look galvanized but they are a silver color plated, and there doesn't appear to be any rust. I have never seen this before. Would you clean them up and leave the plated surface exposed, or sandblast them and prime and paint them silver?
