Cub repower

I have a "58 Farmall Cub with a very tired engine, that needs rebuilding more than just rings and bearings. I was going to see about a rebore and overhaul, then after installing a new radiator last weekend disaster struck. One of the ears that the fan mounts to broke off sending the fan through the new radiator. After talking to my brother, he suggested repowering with a Kubota diesel engine. Anyone ever done this before? Asbestos underwear in place for purists.
