To twist or not to twist

I have an H rear end here and I want to remove the tramsmission cover. Most of the bolts came out. 3 of them are going to twist off if I keep going. The top is so thick I dont think I will ever get any heat down in there. Is there a secret here. Should I go ahead and twist them off and remove the cover then apply heat and remove them with vice grips? That is what I am thinking about doing unless a better idea comes??!! TW
