Synthetic Oil

What about using synthetic oil in these old tractor engines? I've had tremendous success using it in my truck, car and auxilary generator but never used it in an old tractor. Anybody had experience with it in a SA or any older model tractor? I've just overhauled the C113 engine on my 48 SA and thinkning about trying it.
